I write apps for my own use but some are freely available for anyone to use, but... no guarantees - they are generally harmless but you use them at your own risk.
The apps are PWAs - progressive web apps - which you access like any web page but which can install on your phone and work without a network connection.
Using these apps is mainly a matter of tapping and swiping. For example, swipe left to cancel a dialog, swipe right to go back. All data is held on your device and most of the apps save backups making it easy to transfer to a new phone.
